Rashtriya Military school Ajmer, With its Panasonic view of surrounding hills, spread over 92 acres was founded on 15th Nov, 1930 as King George’s Royal Indian Military Schools to take care of education of sons of defense personal. In 1952, the school was recognized on public school lines and admissions were made open to the sons of Defense service Officers and Civilians. In 1954, the school became the member of the India Public School Conference (IPSC).The School was renamed military school in 1966 and its old motto 'play the game' was replaced with 'Sheelam Param Bhushanam' which means 'character is the highest virtue’. On 25th June 2007 the school got its present name 'Rashtriya Military School Ajmer'.
The Rashtriya Military School Ajmer, an English medium school affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi is a category 'A' establishment run by the ministry of Defense and is an active member of the IPSC.
The school has several of its alumni occupying high positions in the Armed Forces and in other sectors doing stellar support to the motherland.

Academic facilities

Well equipped class rooms and laboratories for teaching Science, Maths and Geography. Well equipped computer laboratories with facilities for online teaching.

Hobby Clubs

Boys are encouraged and guided to choose one or more hobbies. There are a number of clubs for pursuing hobbies in the school.

Library

School library is well equipped, having more than 7,000 books in English and Hindi and provision for individual study cabins.The library works on the open access system.

Sports facilities

Facilities for playing Boxing, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, Judo and Swimming are available.

Medical facilities are provided for free to cadets from entitled category. Fpr others, medical help from local hosp[ital is arranged.

Canteen

A CSD outlet is available in the school which caters to daily needs of the students. A cafeteria run on contract basis meets the requirements of extra tea/ coffee etc. of the students.

School Routine

A Normal day of the cadet starts with morning P T / parade under the strict guidance of qualified PT instructors from Army Physical Training Corps. This, followed by a wash and change and the breakfast, is a run - up for the classes that begin at 0830 hrs. Classes run up to 1400hrs
The time after 1400 hrs is used very creatively and fruitfully under the guidance of the staff. All the cadets take part in games from 1530hrs to 1700hrs. After a short break, students go for their classes for doing homework or remedial classes for weak cadets under the guidance of academic staff. On Saturdays, cadets are engaged in club activities and in pursuit of hobbies. The dinner at 2000 hrs. is the last organized, mass activity of the cadets. Cadets are free to pursue their studies even after dinner and are expected to go to sleep latest by 2330hr.
